Unprecedented deblocking and tape-stripping power
A logical and convincing combination: The DTS-A Modulo ONE merges two technologies – deblocking and tape stripping – into ONE single machine that offers industrial level yield. The combo, developed in cooperation with Insomec, is cleverly designed and features two deblocking and two tape-stripping stations. It follows a unique concept for a streamlined process flow that runs several steps simultaneously. As a result, the combo easily does the work of two DBA Modulo and TSA Modulo pairs – four machines. In a matter of seconds, it gently removes the alloy to separate the lenses from the block pieces damage-free, and strips the tape in no time. It relies on proven technology components known for highest process robustness and stability, based on extensive experience in the field.

Streamlined process flow, multiplied capacities
The high performer, DTS-A Modulo ONE, follows a unique concept for a streamlined process flow that runs several steps simultaneously. It features two deblocking stations as well as two tape-stripping stations in one machine. This great capacity is complemented by well thought out and fast automation to add that extra power.

Smart design for maximum time savings
After loading, the blocked lenses are taken to the deblocking chambers where the alloy is melted and removed gently and breakage-free in a matter of seconds with hot water jets. The separated lenses and block pieces subsequently go through intense cleaning and drying cycles. Afterwards, the lenses are swiftly taken to the tape stripping chambers, while the block pieces are collected outside the machine. In the tape stripping chambers, two lenses are stripped of the tape simultaneously with hot water jets. Thanks to the computer-controlled alignment, the system intelligently adapts to sensitive lenses, e.g. with delicate lens coatings. It varies water pressure as well as distance to quickly remove the tape. The tape is collected in a basket for swift and easy disposal.

Great options available
For the deblocking unit, an optional block piece sorting system stacks the blocks in cartridges to be transferred and immediately reused in the CCU Modulo ONE blocker. For the tape-stripping unit, an optional AI-supported optical inspection system controls the lenses for potential tape residues so that they can easily be routed to be rejected afterwards.

Maintenance friendly for seamless production
To ensure maximum ease of use and seamless production, the machine has been designed to allow easy access at any time. Alloy recycling and block piece collection can be carried out without interruption while the machine is running. The access points are conveniently located on the outside.

The Modulo advantage
DTS-A Modulo ONE comes with an on-board global interface philosophy that allows connection to the Modulo system. Once connected to the Modulo system, the machine works as an integral part of this one-of-a-kind solution and is subject to the centralized monitoring Control Center. The lab manager is fully informed about the current status of the machine. Therefore, critical situations and downtime can be avoided before they arise. Higher uptimes and increased yields are assured.
