How Modulo supports the values of Henry Ford OptimEyes

Jim Meredith and Michael Dunn open the doors of Henry Ford OptimEyes’ Lab Central in Oak Park, Detroit Michigan. It has 25,000ft² and was opened in February 2024 as a consolidation of some of smaller labs. The reason to consolidate into a central lab was to combine equipment and staff for more efficiency and faster turnaround time to their customers. The new lab offers them best opportunities for growth and is equipped with SCHNEIDER’s automated Modulo system.

“This gives us a a simpler, less disruptive way to add additional equipment and capacity to our production and really accelerate our growth going forward,” says Jim Meredith, Director of Lab Operations. “With the Modulo Control Center, we are able to monitor the production in a way that we can hit peak efficiency every day of the week”

Modulo is connecting it all together as a full system, a whole production system that allows you to have connectivity in the entire process. And to monitor and see what's going on. It is really a much more integrated approach than the other competitors on the market today.

During the expansion, some main values for Henry Ford OptimEyes were: 1. to remain in Detroit and keep all production local in this area. 2. to maintain all of their employees and integrate them in the new manufacturing process. And 3. to stay true to their strong motto and promise to their customers: “Your vision is our purpose!”

Modulo was the perfect choice for them, it allowed seamless production at highest quality and utmost efficiency. “The lab design will allow us to grow here for many years to come”, says Michael Dunn, Vice President of Operations at Henry Ford OptimEyes. “This was part of SCHNEIDER’s concept from the very beginning.”

I love working with the cutting edge, the ones that have similar values to ourselves. We talk about the innovation aspect, and there truly is nobody better - when it comes to innovation - than SCHNEIDER.
